Costume
Portraits
A lovely keepsake for family and friends to cherish for years to come.
The portable backdrop can be set up backstage or at your rehearsal venue during the dress rehearsal. Students can have their photo taken individually, in pairs or in small groups.
The dancers love having a fun photo shoot and the parents love being able to purchase high quality images of their kids in costume. There is no obligation for parents to buy the images.
Our specially trained photographers are there to help pose and perfect every photo!
Here's a couple of tips to ensure the day runs smoothly:

Provide a minimum of 8x10m space with accessible power, a desk and a chair for the dress rehearsal or photo day portrait photo shoot.

We will arrive at the venue 1 hour before start time. We need a little time to find the perfect spot and set up our equipment.

Ensure that all the students are brought by their teacher/minder after their rehearsal to have their photo taken.

Please note the backdrop is suitable only for individual and/or small group images. The limit is usually up to 8 small dancers.

Parents will not be permitted to take photos on the portable background or in the theatre during the event.

Concert
Photography
Get the best action shots of your concert! Photos are taken by a photographer in the auditorium during the performance.
If you are only booking photography for your concert, we will arrive at the venue approximately 45 minutes before curtain up.
For photography we require 1-2 seats in the centre of the row just above eye-line of the performers. This is usually about 6-10 rows away from the stage.
Depending on the rake of the auditorium (steepness), the seats in front of the photographer may need to be left vacant. We can recommend specific seats in most theatres.
The photographer does not need to be seated with the videographer. Larger concerts may have two photographers.
Photography
Costs
While we do not charge dance studios for bookings or performance photography services, we do have a minimum spend in place to ensure we cover our costs.
It is incredibly rare for studios to not meet the minimum spend if all of the customers are aware of the service. The 'spend' is the amount of income generated from customers (dancers and their families). The minimum spend is calculated based on the number of events that the Photographer is hired for. Minimum spend totals are as follows:
• $600AUD for the first event (eg. Dress Rehearsal Portraits or Concert),
• $400AUD for every subsequent event.
For example, minimum spends are as follows:
• Studios with 1 Concert: $600,
• Studios with 2 Concerts: $1000,
• Studios with 1 Dress Rehearsal Portrait Shoot and 1 Concert: $1000,
• Studios with 1 Dress Rehearsal Portrait Shoot and 2 Concerts: $1400.
If the minimum spend is not met by 30 days from the gallery release date, we will be in contact to try to resolve the issue. If we cannot meet minimum spend after all avenues are exhausted, we will send out an invoice for the difference between the actual spend and the minimum spend.
Our simple to navigate website will showcase your stunning images to your dancers and their families. The gallery is password protected and your customers can purchase mini-resolution digital images for $6 each and full-resolution images for $12 each. There are also discounts for bulk purchases!
Principal Photo
Discount
As a thank you for helping us achieve maximum sales, the principal of the studio will receive a discount on images.
You will be given a unique Principal/Owner coupon code, enter this on the cart page and you can download full-resolution digital images for just $1.10 each. Please refrain from uploading large amounts of images within the first fortnight after your concert as this can negatively affect sales.

DancePro provide a two-camera video production filmed in high definition on professional Sony cameras. The shooting method means all dancers should be on camera while they are on the stage. Dance concerts typically have more wide shots. A greater number of close-up shots are used for younger children when their items are more static. The style of the dance generally dictates the way it is mixed and we are trained to follow the flow of your routines. The finished product is a smooth combination of wide and close-up shots.
DancePro will capture visuals and audio, and mix them perfectly to provide a beautiful end product. We understand lighting, audio and staging issues and can provide solutions. Sound can be taken from the theatre PA system and mixed with live sounds to give optimum reproduction. Our wireless stage foot microphones will capture song and dance, musical theatre or tap items.

Videography Costs
Everything you need in one affordable payment.
Essentially you/your studio purchases a license for each family participating in your concert to access the concert videos. You would charge or collect the payment from your families in any way you like and we invoice you directly. Some studios choose to subsidise the cost, others build it into enrolment, concerts fees or a one-off concert media payment. The choice is yours!
This is an all-in package as everyone at your studio will have the same password to access the media. Because the cost is shared amongst all of your families, we can keep it incredibly affordable.
Instead of $40-$80 for a USB, our online packages range from $15-$25 per family. Studios with a single concert and fewer than 100 participating families will be covered under our flat rate of $1500 per concert.

Videography
Process
Here’s how it works:

A few weeks before your concert, you will be asked to confirm the number of families participating in your concert. A deposit may be required at this time.

We will then create your invoice based on your final numbers. Your invoice must be paid shortly after your concert. Once your invoice is paid, we can begin the editing and uploading process.

Once your concert video is completed, you will be sent a personal link for you or a trusted staff member to login and approve your concert video. Make sure all videos are included and correct and there are no errors.

On approval, you can then email the link and password to your dance families.

Your dance families will then be able to log in, watch, and download their concert video.

Your families are still able to copy their videos onto a USB or burn them onto a DVD.
While the watching and downloading process is really simple, we have tutorial videos on our website and are always available for technical help if needed!
Concert
Seating

For photography we require 1-2 seats. To get the best shots, seats eye level with the stage is preferred. This is usually about 6-10 rows away from the stage.

Some larger concerts in big venues will have 2 photographers. If this is applicable for you, please also reserve us 1 seat in the front corner of the stage (usually A1 is perfect). This way, we will get an alternate angle and some great close-up shots of your dancers.

Check that there are no heads, lights or speakers in the way.

For videography we require 5-6 adjacent seats at the back of the auditorium in the same row. We need room for 2 tripods, a desk and a video operator. This MUST have access to power and an XLR sound feed from the theatre sound desk.

The photographer and videographer do not need to be seated together.

If it is your first time working with us or you’re in a different venue, please make contact before allocating seats.
Technical
Requirements

For your Dress Rehearsal Portrait photography, we will arrive at the venue 1 hour before start time. We need a little time to find the perfect spot and set up our equipment.

For videography at your concert, we will arrive at the venue 2 hours before curtain up. It does take a little longer to set up so we can get everything perfect! If we don’t have access to the venue on time, we can’t guarantee that we will be ready to start on time.

If DancePro are providing videography at your concert, please ensure you have organised an XLR sound feed from the theatre’s audio desk. This is not a problem for most theatres, however, if you are in a hall or alternate venue, you may need to organise this with your technical crew. It is preferable if this is ready for us when we arrive or we cannot guarantee your video will have appropriate sound.

If your concert is in a hall or alternate venue, please ensure that the area we are setting up in has access to power.

If your venue is not a theatre (e.g. YMCA Morley), we may require a raised platform to ensure we can see the dancers without obstruction.
Concert
Requirements

Please ensure that prior to the start of the show you announce to the audience that there is to be no photography or videography to be taken.

It's important that your dancers and their families are aware of how to order their images and download the video.

Please email us a digital copy of your programme at least 2 days prior to your concert so we can make the photo folders and include it on your video.

If your concert has a video presentation or slideshow, please send it through no later than 2 days after the concert for it to be included in your concert video download.
